Trees are living organisms. They go through different phases of their lives, from saplings, to juvenile, to young, and then mature, and then they begin to retrench or decline, before they cannot create enough energy to support the entire organism and eventually pass on. The mortality spiral in trees is simply another part of nature’s processes.  Sometimes new development on property requires certain trees to be removed, and relocated. Doc Holliday Tree Service is certified, insured, and safe – ready to help with the task.

Having well maintained trees on your yard allows for the trees to be in their optimal condition to promote healthy growth and life. Trees that are poorly maintained or neglected in urban environments can pose problems with structural integrity, restricted growth, potential liability hazards, increased deadwood, and can be aesthetically unappealing. Aid in the majesty of your trees, and keep your property safe and clean, by taking an interest in the care of all trees under your management.

Having a hedge on your property may create a wonderful, natural fence line which adds privacy, a noise or a sun barrier, even a cozy place for backyard animals to spend time during the day. There are many great reasons to have a hedge on your property, as well as many great reasons the keep it maintained. Increase visual aesthetics, reduce the amount of animals that may choose to nest overnights in there. Promotes new and healthy growth. Reclaim parts of your yard that may be overgrown.

After a tree is removed it is best to grind the stump to prevent re-growth, disease or even a hazard when walking. Have that unsightly stump in your backyard ground out to improve the aesthetics of your yard. We use a stump grinding machine to grind the stump of the tree below ground level.

When should I plant a tree? The answer is today! Trees are long lived, woody organisms and take time to grow to their full maturity. Once a tree has been established in the ground, it has begun the journey to reach its full growth, and every species has different variables along the way of its development, that relate to the speed and strength of its growing phases. We are excited to provide advice, suggestion, information and any guidance to our clients, when helping to decide on the planting requirements. Some planting locations may not be suitable for some species, due to soils, slope, surrounding environment, existing adjacent trees, sunlight or lack thereof. Tree planting is much more than just digging a hole and putting a plant into the ground.  Overwatering, the depth the tree is planted, and soil conditions are common factors that can immediately affect your new tree. Let us help you along the way to the best of our ability! We know and love trees.

Live edge slabs of all kinds of thickness can be sliced from the large trunk of your tree. This “live-edge” is very popular in furniture and cabinetry these days. We can create beautiful raw material slabs that could be designed for chacutire boards , table tops, benches, mantle pieces and cutting boards . One way of creating a lasting memory of this dignified, wooden specimen, that grew up on your property.

Storms happen and they can be violent. Sometimes these storms can destroy even the healthiest trees. This unpredictable nature is often difficult to foresee or prevent. The best preventative option is to have a tree risk management plan in order to assess the risks/liabilities that your trees share with the property. For tree risk assessments please inquire. However storm conditions can be unpredictable. The next best option is to be prepared for storm damage and cleanup. The faster you attend to any damaged properties, the faster things can be resolved, and also prevent any further damages from occurring. Be aware of trees on your property that may be of any risk, as you are the manager of those trees and there is a duty of care that should be upheld.
